As Chief Operating Officer, Anil runs K3's global operations across the U.S. and India — the biometrics depth, staffing, and full-service delivery behind the company's reputation for execution over more than a decade. HR, Finance, IT, and international operations report to him, and he turns strategy into the operational plan that keeps sponsor programs on schedule.
He is also the founder and architect of SPARC, K3's clinical-trial automation platform. SPARC exists because trials are still run on spreadsheets, disconnected specs, and manual handoffs — so Anil built infrastructure, not another tool. Its metadata-native architecture connects clinical standards, analysis requirements, code, and outputs through traceable, explainable workflows — reading analysis plans and metadata to generate submission-shaped outputs such as Define-XML and CSR content.
With a background in physics, Anil builds AI systems that earn trust rather than merely automate — and is now scaling SPARC into a regulatory-grade platform for the next generation of trials.
John Kurtz
Senior Vice President, Strategy & Growth
John is the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Growth at K3. He has over 30 years of experience building and integrating organizations, business development, alliance management, and global R&D operations in the pharmaceutical and device industries.
Prior to joining K3, John established Kurtz Partners to deliver improved R&D outcomes when utilizing external partners. John’s extensive experience includes alliance management at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a J&J Company, and a successful track record leading program management and development of molecules and devices in multiple therapeutic areas while at industry-leading companies, including Covance and Pfizer.
Ilene Brooks
Director of Business Development
Ilene's career includes 10+ years with Clinical Research Organizations. Her passion is developing new business opportunities while building relationships with customers.
She has demonstrated sales success focusing on pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies of all sizes. In addition to contributing to company growth at K3-Innovations, Ilene engages within the recruitment department to expand staffing services. Ilene holds a BA degree in Economics from Drew University.
A mother of two children entering adulthood and two furry children (a dog and cat), lives in central New Jersey with her husband. She also finds time to volunteer with her local fire company as a Fire Police Officer.
Kajal Anandani
CEO/Founder
Kajal has over 18 years of experience in Statistical Analysis and optimizing statistical reporting, data standardization, and E-submissions in the pharmaceutical and device industries. Her leadership has spanned a broad range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, endocrinology, the central nervous system, rare genetic disorders, etc.
Prior to co-founding K3, Kajal worked as a consultant in top pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including Sanofi Genzyme, Hoffman La Roche, AstraZeneca, Gilead Sciences, and BioMarin.
